Same, Same but Different
How can I tell it is Thursday when no-one leaves the house?
I have been working from my home office for years, so I chuckled when I started reading the countless articles helping people to adapt to this new ‘working from home’ thing.
Over the past two weeks, one by one, my household has transitioned to us all being at home to study and work remotely. My husband set up his makeshift office in the spare room, with ‘emergency’ dashes to the shops for a new chair and a whiteboard. School sent home the laptops and ran Webex test runs.
By Thursday of last week, we each commenced our own days in the four corners of the house.
I chuckled as I spotted my husband, mid-morning, polishing the finger prints off the stair railing. He usually only notices finger prints on a weekend.
I didn’t chuckle so much when my son requested his 5th peanut butter sandwich for the day (how does he survive with just one during a school day?)
I listened as my older son and husband negotiated at what temperature the air-conditioning could be turned on, and agreed that 35 degree Celsius (95 Fahrenheit) was reasonable.
